Journalist portfolio template

Start from a template like this one - it already has bylines linked out to publications, a bio, and a current-projects section in a serif, paper-style layout. B12's AI generates the site from a short description of your beat, so you're adding your own clips instead of designing from scratch.

Your published bylines linked to the original publications, a short bio, current projects, and a way for editors to reach you - this template maps all of it to a page already. Group bylines by beat or publication rather than chronologically; editors scan for relevant coverage of their topic, not for your latest piece.

Each byline links directly out to where the story was published, so editors and readers can click through to read your original reporting. Update bylines, publication names, and current-projects in the visual editor as new pieces publish - journalist portfolios go stale within a month, and stale portfolios lose commissioning editors' interest fast.

Yes - start from this serif, paper-textured layout and swap in your own bylines, bio, and current projects. Free to launch; upgrade only when commissioning work justifies it. Serif typography and editorial restraint signal seriousness in journalism circles; skip trendy design language that other creative freelancers use.

Built for reporters and journalists whose published bylines across publications are the portfolio. For freelance copywriters and content writers building a clip-forward portfolio for brand and marketing work, see our copywriter portfolio prompt. For a broader editorial-body-of-work portfolio (essays, cultural criticism, longform), see our editorial portfolio prompt. B12's design experts can refine the typography for whichever writing discipline fits.
